AUB has a creative community of over 3,000 students on our state-of-the-art campus, including 400 international students from over 60 countries.

We’re a practical university with strong ambitions for our graduates to enjoy rewarding careers. Our alumni constantly return with incredible stories of things they’ve done, business they’ve created and awards they’ve won.

There’s more than one route into studying in our creative community. From Evening & Saturday Courses, Summer Courses and Semester Study Abroad, to Foundation, BA courses and postgraduate degrees, you’ll find a path through AUB that suits you.

Why AUB?

We are a leading arts university for the creative industries, turning creativity into careers. We’re passionate about our creative subjects and encourage curiosity, risk-taking and adventure.

Students on different courses collaborate together on projects, which mimics the creative industries. Live project briefs mean students work with industry throughout their course.

  • According to the most recent DLHE Survey, 98% of our graduates were employed or in further study within six months of graduating.
  • We were recently recognised as outstanding in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Report, with Gold status granted in 2017.
  • AUB was voted the highest-ranked modern university in the South West by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.

We’re located right between Bournemouth and Poole, so you’ll have the best of both worlds when it comes to entertainment and eating out. We’ve got famous nightlife, a thriving arts scene, and are surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Bournemouth has great beaches and is close to the New Forest and The Jurassic Coast World Heritage site which covers 95 miles of truly stunning coastline from East Devon to Dorset .  Bournemouth is a lively student town with lots of things to do, but for for those weekend trips, London is only 2 hours away.

Written by our course teams, who teach on our full-time degree programmes, and supported by visiting tutors, specialist technicians and student graduates, our highly practical courses allow you to explore a range of approaches to creative thinking and making in a variety of art forms. As well as learning about creative techniques and processes, our summer courses aim to increase your confidence in your artistic abilities, giving you the opportunity to make a more informed decision about your future.

Semester Study Abroad

Joining our current undergraduates, our semester study abroad courses are ideal for students who wish to spend time abroad, develop their creative skills and gain credits towards their university degree.

Our courses are suitable for international students and professionals who wish to develop new skills or continue their creative practice discipline abroad but do not necessarily wish to spend 2-3 years in another country.
