Courses at DMU
More than 2,700 international students choose to study at DMU every year, on a range of courses designed to give them the skills and experience that global employers need.
Our four faculties offer 400 undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, and more than 170 of these are professionally accredited. We offer a wide variety of courses, including Architecture, Accounting, Psychology, Media, Pharmacy and Fashion.
Placements at DMU
Paid work placements are one of the best ways to boost your skills and experience while studying, and can even lead to a graduate job. Students can apply academic theory to real-life situations and develop professional skills. Through ties with some of the most successful organisations in the world, DMU helps students set up placements that suit their particular interests and aspirations. Placements are integrated into modules or offered as an optional sandwich year across the majority of DMU courses. DMU has been named the best university in the country for helping students find highly skilled work or further study, in a league table produced by higher education experts Wonkhe [from TEF metrics].
Links with industry
DMU courses are carefully designed to equip students with skills and knowledge for today’s competitive job market. Many of our courses are accredited by professional bodies, which means they are designed with employability in mind. We worked with the world’s largest technology company, HP, to develop our Business Information Systems course. We have also teamed up with Channel 4 to develop an Investigative Journalism MA and work with the NHS to provide training in different specialisms in the health professions every year. Experience is an invaluable asset when seeking a job and we work with some of the most successful organisations in the world to offer placements. Many are run through our partnerships with organisations such as Curve theatre, the British Library and Macmillan Cancer Support.
